At Architexture Nautica, we believe the sea should be felt inside as much as outside.
With Night Howl, our task was to open up a dark, dated interior and let the light, the water, and the natural world pour back in.
Letting the Sea Back In
Night Howl came to us as a beautiful vessel weighed down by a heavy, dated interior. Dark woods, closed sightlines, and dim, aging finishes shut out the very thing that makes life aboard so extraordinary: the water and the light all around it. Our vision was to reverse that entirely, drawing the sea and the sky back into every room.
By lightening the palette, opening sightlines to the windows, and choosing materials that echo the ocean, we transformed a closed, formal space into one that breathes with its surroundings.
The Challenge: Lightness Without Losing Luxury
Opening up a dark interior is not simply a matter of lighter finishes. On the water, every material has to perform, every surface has to endure salt and sun, and the sense of luxury has to remain intact. The challenge was to flood the yacht with light and a feeling of the outdoors while keeping it warm, grounded, and unmistakably refined.
Just as important, the space had to be genuinely livable. Our client wanted a yacht that felt like a serene coastal home rather than a formal showpiece, comfortable enough to truly relax in, yet worthy of the most discerning eye.
The Architexture Nautica Approach
Led by Julie Hardridge, who brings over 20 combined years of design expertise across residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, we approached Night Howl with a single guiding idea: bring the outdoors in, and let the interior live in harmony with the sea around it.
01. Light & Openness
We stripped away the dark, dated finishes and replaced them with a soft, sun-washed palette. Sightlines were opened toward the water so daylight moves freely through the yacht, making every space feel brighter and more expansive.
02. Nature & The Sea
Ocean blues, sandy neutrals, natural stone, and organic textures draw the coastal environment inside. The result is an interior that feels connected to the water in every direction, calming, elemental, and alive.
03. Comfort & Livability
Bespoke, marine-grade furnishings were chosen to be as inviting as they are beautiful. Every space was designed for real life aboard, so the yacht feels like a relaxed coastal retreat without ever sacrificing its luxury.
We didn’t just lighten a room. We invited the sea inside.

What was once dark and closed is now bright, airy, and effortlessly connected to the sea. The completed interior feels like a serene coastal home that happens to travel the water, comfortable enough to live in fully, yet finished to the highest standard in every detail.
